Last updated: June 20, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Smart Dialer (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we access, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the Smart Dialer app (“App”).

By using Smart Dialer, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.

2. Information We Access

Smart Dialer is a local-first application. All data it accesses stays on your device and is never uploaded to our servers unless explicitly stated below. However, our third-party advertising partners may collect certain data as described in Section 5.

2.1 Contacts

Permission: READ_CONTACTS, WRITE_CONTACTS

We access your device contacts to display them in the App, allow you to add or edit contacts, and assign speed dial shortcuts. We do not upload your contacts to any server.

2.2 Call Logs

Permission: READ_CALL_LOG, WRITE_CALL_LOG

We read your call history to display recent calls, call details (date, time, duration, call type), and per-contact call history. We may delete call log entries at your request. Call logs are never transmitted off your device.

2.3 Phone State & Phone Numbers

Permission: READ_PHONE_STATE, READ_BASIC_PHONE_STATE, READ_PHONE_NUMBERS

We access phone state to detect incoming and outgoing calls, display caller information on screen, and manage call handling. We do not store or share this data.

2.4 Making & Answering Calls

Permission: CALL_PHONE, ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS, MANAGE_OWN_CALLS, MANAGE_ONGOING_CALLS

We use these permissions to make calls directly from the App, answer incoming calls, manage active call sessions, and operate as your default phone dialer.

2.5 Microphone

Permission: RECORD_AUDIO

Microphone access is used solely during active phone calls to transmit your voice through the standard Android telephony system. We do not record, store, or upload your voice or any call audio.

2.6 Blocked Numbers

Permission: READ_BLOCKED_NUMBERS, WRITE_BLOCKED_NUMBERS

We read and manage your device’s blocked numbers list so you can block and unblock callers from within the App. This data remains on your device.

2.7 Notifications

Permission: POST_NOTIFICATIONS

We send notifications for incoming calls, missed calls, and fake call alerts (if scheduled). You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings.

2.8 Audio Settings

Permission: MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS

We adjust audio settings during calls to support features like speakerphone and mute. No audio data is collected.

2.9 Storage

Permission: READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below only)

On older Android versions, we may access device storage to display contact profile photos you have assigned. We do not access any other files.

2.10 Display Over Other Apps

Permission: SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT

We use these to display the incoming call screen over your lock screen or other apps, consistent with standard dialer behavior on Android.

2.11 Internet

Permission: INTERNET

Internet access is used to serve advertisements through our ad network partners (Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, AppLovin, and Vungle/Liftoff) and to send anonymous usage analytics via Google Firebase Analytics. We do not transmit your contacts, call logs, call history, or any personally identifiable information over the internet.

4. Advertising

Smart Dialer displays advertisements to support free access to the App. We use in-app bidding, which means multiple ad networks compete in real-time to serve you the most relevant ad. Our advertising partners and their practices are described below.

4.1 Data Collected by Ad Networks

Our advertising partners may automatically collect the following information when ads are shown:

  • Advertising Identifier – Google Advertising ID (GAID) or equivalent device identifier
  • Device Information – Device model, OS version, screen size, language, time zone
  • Network Information – IP address, mobile carrier, connection type (Wi-Fi / cellular)
  • App Usage Data – Which ads were shown, clicked, and how long you viewed them
  • General Location – Approximate location derived from IP address (not precise GPS)

We do not share your contacts, call logs, call history, or microphone data with any advertising partner.

4.2 Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to serve banner, interstitial, and rewarded advertisements.

  • Data collected: Advertising ID, device info, app usage, IP address
  • Purpose: Targeted and contextual advertising
  • Opt-out: You can opt out of personalized ads via Google Settings → Ads → Delete advertising ID
  • Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • GDPR/CCPA: Google provides consent management tools compliant with GDPR and CCPA

4.3 Meta Audience Network (Facebook)

We use Meta Audience Network to serve advertisements powered by Facebook’s advertising platform.

4.4 AppLovin

We use AppLovin for in-app bidding and ad mediation.

4.5 Vungle (Liftoff Monetize)

We use Vungle (Liftoff Monetize) to serve video and interstitial advertisements.

4.6 Firebase Analytics (Google)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App so we can improve features and user experience.

  • Data collected: App events (screen views, button taps, feature usage), device model, OS version, app version, country/region (from IP), session duration, and crash reports
  • What we do NOT collect: Your contacts, phone numbers, call logs, call recordings, or any personally identifiable information through Firebase
  • Purpose: Anonymous, aggregated usage analytics only — we use this to understand which features are used most, fix crashes, and improve the App
  • Data retention: Firebase Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default and then automatically deleted by Google
  • Anonymization: All data is collected in anonymized and aggregated form. We cannot identify individual users from Firebase Analytics data
  • Opt-out: You can disable analytics collection at any time via Settings → Google → Usage & diagnostics on your device
  • Privacy Policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • GDPR/CCPA: Google provides Firebase Data Processing Addendum compliant with GDPR and CCPA

We do not store, sell, or share any Firebase Analytics data with third parties outside of Google’s Firebase platform.

4.7 Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads

By default, our ad partners may serve personalized ads based on your interests and usage patterns. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:

  • Android: Go to Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or Opt out of Ads Personalization (Android 11 and below)
  • Individual networks: Use the opt-out links listed in Sections 4.2–4.5 above

When you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to your interests.
